Fashion and Textiles – Pre- Apprenticeship

This pre-apprenticeship prepares trainees to confidently work to industrial standards. The trainee will be equipped with the skills to construct garment patterns, grade correctly and work independently and within a team to deliver client brief and specifications. In addition, the trainee will have an understanding of Health and Safety practices in the workplace.

The trainee will become familiar with working in a professional context and will confidently apply skills, knowledge and understanding of the Fashion Industry in a work setting on completion of the apprenticeship. They will have an understanding of production outputs and gain commercial awareness of the Fashion market both in the UK and abroad.

Entry Requirements

No specific entry requirements. However, learners with no GCSE Maths and English will have to work towards gaining a Level 2 Maths and English qualification before completion of their course.

Assessment

Project work and work placement. Internal assessment and internal and external moderation.
